Change is an inevitable part of our lives.  The rate of change is accelerating, with little sign of a reprieve for the future.  The way we react to change will ultimately determine how well we identify the opportunities that change offers us.  This course will help you understand the way you feel about change and provide you with a basic planning tool for progressing through.

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS COURSE?

Anyone who would like to improve their change response and benefit from the opportunities that change often presents.  

COURSE AIMS

To increase the effectiveness of participants when dealing with change situations by helping them to recognise their levels of personal power and acting accordingly.
To improve the quality of decisions made during the change process.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

1.  Develop an understanding of the emotional cycle of change.
2.  Develop a personal power grid for each change situation.
3.  Understand the power of paradigms.
4.  Explore tools that can be used in a change situation.

WHAT LEARNING METHODS ARE USED TO ACHIEVE THE OUTCOMES?

All exercises and learning techniques used during this workshop have been chosen with the adult learner in mind.  Exercises are problem centred and discussion and syndicate work is used as a vehicle for participants to reflect on their own experiences.
Specific methods used include:

    Case studies.
    Problem solving scenarios in syndicates, and individually.
    Syndicate and plenary discussion.
    Role plays.
    Video presentation (optional).

The above list represents topics to be covered during the workshop.  This theory will be presented in a variety of ways which take into account different learning styles and the principles of how adults learn.
