New Course! - 'Use Case for Business Requirements'.

This programme was developed to meet an urgent need for high quality training and certification of workplace assessors.  The programme is based on nationally endorsed competencies and carries a qualification for participants who are assessed as competent.  There are no prerequisites for entry but participants must be knowledgeable and skilled in the areas they are likely to be assessing.

      Supervisors, team leaders, middle managers who assess in the workplace.
      Human resource personnel.

COURSE AIMS

To provide industry with Workplace Assessors who are competent in the process of skills assessment for a variety of purposes.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. Define competency and explain the key features of assessment in a competency based system.

  2. Demonstrate the interpersonal skills required in the assessment process.

  3. Identify the context for assessment.

  4. Establish the evidence required.

  5. Explain the assessment procedure.

  6. Organise the assessment.

  7. Gather evidence.

  8. Make assessment decisions.

  9. Provide feedback during assessment.

  10. Record assessment results.

  11. Provide feedback on performance.

  12. Review the procedure.

WHAT LEARNING METHODS ARE USED TO ACHIEVE THE OUTCOMES?

All exercises and learning techniques used during this workshop have been chosen with the adult learner in mind.  Exercises are problem centred and discussion and syndicate work is used as a vehicle for participants to reflect on their own experiences.
Specific methods used include:

 Because of the interactive nature of this workshop, topics may not be presented in the strict order outlined above.  Each group of participants may have different needs and constraints and therefore the workshop will be structured to meet their specific needs.
